Contribution to Training

Sponsored by: Siemens Building Technologies Awarded to the individual, company or organisation that has contributed to training on the installation, design and/or use of building controls and BEMS. This can include training for controls professionals, clients, end-users or apprentices.

Energy Management Award

Sponsored by: Priva Awarded to a manufacturer, installer or team in recognition of a project which demonstrates how building controls and/or BEMS have been applied to increase energy efficiency in a building or building complex. This award is also open to individuals with a responsibility for energy management in a client or consultancy role. The entry must detail the specific aims of the project in terms of energy saving; and how building controls/BEMS were applied to meet those objectives.

Engineer of the Year

Sponsored by: Trend Control Systems This award is open to individuals working for controls installers, manufacturers, consulting engineers or FM companies who best demonstrate engineering excellence in controls and BEMS. Entries should show how an individual has applied technical knowledge combined with project management skills in meeting and resolving engineering challenges. The recipient will show a commitment to their duties and responsibilities as well as to the wider controls industry as a whole.

Independent Building Controls and BEMS Installer of the Year

Sponsored by: Centraline Awarded in recognition of the building controls and/or building energy management systems (BEMS) installer which demonstrates professionalism, commitment and understanding of the needs of clients.

Young engineer of the Year

Sponsored by: TBC Awarded to the individual under 30 years of age who best demonstrates the achievements gained through successful participation in the BCIA Technical Training Programme and other building controls educational programmes. This award recognises the value of the training to our whole industry and the importance of continuous professional development. The recipient will have also displayed a significant advancement in their building controls career.
