Smith & Byford was established in 1966, and is an independent family run business specialising in BMS Installation and Maintenance Services. The BMS division can offer a range of services including control system design including Cad and 3d graphics solutions, control panel manufacture at our own workshop and installation and commissioning of BMS systems, all of which is carried out by our own in-house staff.

We also offer environmental servicing and maintenance of numerous control systems with an emphasis to improve operational efficiency of plant and reduce fuel usage with the main focus to bring down the overall carbon footprint of our clients. We are committed to provide our clients with the most cost effective solutions to make sure their systems are always operating most effectively and efficiently. In discussion with our clients we agree the best of way achieving the desired standards for their sites including service level agreements, agreed visit schedules and regular progress meetings. We usually adopt a PPM approach to the servicing and maintenance of our clients BMS system and this might include the provision of our 24/7 call out support. We can also offer use of our BMS service bureau in fault finding where it is often possible to eliminate the need for an engineer to attend site.

The company has a broad customer base including the Ministry of Justice, local area authorities, universities, schools, entertainment sector as well as large commercial environments. We are affiliated with two of the major BMS manufacturers in Honeywell and Trend.
