BCIA welcomes three new Management Committee members
The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) is delighted to announce the appointment of three new Management Committee members: David Hogg (SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions), Richard Meacham (Crown House Enterprise Solutions) and Simon Ward (Distech Controls).
The BCIA is run by its members and committee members are elected. Members are however encouraged to participate in the Skills, Marketing and Technical Working Groups which enable the BCIA to tackle particular issues and projects in a focused way.
David Hogg started life as an apprentice electrician before progressing to work as a controls engineer. He spent a number of years working in Facilities Management and served the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management in a number of roles including two periods as a Director of the Institute. Recently, David moved back into the controls industry and joined SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions and is pleased to be part of a ‘revolution” in Building Controls and Energy Management Systems with the roll out of SMART technologies. He believes the next few years will be an exciting time for the industry due to its fast moving nature and the BCIA will need strong management to provide direction and support for its members.
Richard Meacham has worked in the BMS industry for 30 years and is currently the Technical Lead for CHt Enterprise Solutions which includes being involved with design, implementation and commissioning of BMS systems on every project being delivered in house. Previously, Richard has worked on a myriad of projects both in Australia where he worked for a number of years for Schneider Electric and in the UK. Prior to his current role, Richard was involved in The Francis Crick Institute, a biomedical research centre in London. Richard is keen to trial the very latest innovations wherever possible which improve energy efficiency and building management and he is looking forward to his new role with the BCIA.
Simon Ward also has vast experience in the building controls industry, spanning over 30 years with both manufacturers and system integrators. This has enabled him to develop a wealth of knowledge in products and solutions as well as marketing and customer base. Simon is passionate about supporting the industry as we evolve from supplying traditional Building Management Systems to Connected Building Solutions and believes we should have a strong combined voice in the market irrespective of our market position or brand.
