Rob Wood appointed new BCIA Skills Working Group Chair

Technical Director of BOSS Controls, Rob Wood, has been appointed the new Skills Working Group Chair for the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA).

Rob has been the Technical Director for BOSS Controls for eight years and is responsible for all the technical and engineering aspects of the business. This can range from field staff training and development, research and development, through to implementation of new products of processes.

Previously, Rob spent several enjoyable years with Trend, firstly in the capacity of a Bureau/Field Service engineer before progressing as an instructor within their training department. Part of that role was to help develop new training courses such as TONN and IQEco.

In Rob’s spare time, he volunteers locally within the Northamptonshire Council Homeless Link Scheme and also gives talks to the public and benefactors on military injury and recovery as an ambassador for Help for Heroes.

Rob Wood said: “I am delighted to be chairing the Skills Working Group meetings on behalf of the BCIA and its members. With my previous industry and military experience, I have a passion for helping engineers grow as professionals and people – I am immensely proud of our engineering team and our joint desire to learn and better ourselves in all aspects of BMS. I hope to bring this enthusiasm to my new role within the BCIA and I look forward to guiding the next stage of new course releases and, in particular, the successful launch of the BeMS Trailblazer scheme.”

Rob replaces Ian Lewis in this role and the BCIA would like to thank Ian for his commitment and dedication for his time spent as Chair of the Skills Working Group.
