Update: Reservation of funds for non-levy employers
From 03 April 2023, non-levy employers will no longer be limited to a maximum of 10 new apprenticeship starts. This is so that smaller organisations have access to the apprenticeships they need to meet their ambitions, fill their skills gaps and grow their businesses. SMEs will be able to recruit as many high-quality apprentices as your business needs.
Information for non-levy employers:
- New reservations – There is no change to the reservation process. You will still need to use the finance section of the apprenticeship service to reserve funding for each apprentice. Reservations will still expire three months after funding has been reserved, if they have not been converted to a commitment.
- Existing reservations – Existing reservations will still expire three months after they were made if they have not been converted to a commitment on the service.
- Transfers – Funds transferred from employers who pay the levy to other employers, through the apprenticeship service, are not affected.
