BCIA launches Inspired Leaders Programme

The BCIA has launched an Inspired Leaders Programme, a specially designed industry-centric leadership training programme through which delegates will benefit from understanding of the challenges and opportunities of leading within the BEMS industry. The programme is being led by Michael Holbrow, a professional coach, mentor and facilitator who has spent more than 30 years in the Building Controls industry.

During the development of the BCIA’s Corporate Plan, leadership and people development were identified as areas suffering from a training gap, with many companies struggling to recruit and without time to concentrate on people development due to the pace of the market. The programme references ‘leadership beyond boundaries’ by welcoming both direct people-managers and those that are currently leading challenging situations without line management responsibilities.

From 36 applications, the first cohort of 14 delegates have been selected and confirmed, and the first full day of the six-month programme will take place on 15th February 2024 at the Victory Services Club in London, where other leaders will share insight about their leadership journeys and challenges they have encountered along the way.

The programme will comprise six modules in total, with the first being the session in February and the remaining five taking place over the subsequent 12-16 weeks.

Following the completion of the first cohort the BCIA will appraise whether the programme is something that should be part of the BCIA’s wider schedule of industry training.
