BCIA Young Engineers Network to deliver CPD-accredited seminar at Smart Buildings Show

Andy Camsell, BCIA Technical Consultant and Trainer, will be delivering a CPD-accredited talk as part of the BCIA’s Young Engineers Network annual programme at this year’s Smart Buildings Show.

This BCIA YEN session is aimed at those under the age of 35 working in BEMS and Building Controls. The YEN provides support and learning and facilitates networking events and site visits to enable young engineers to develop their careers and their professional network. This session is open to non-BCIA members (and over 35’s!).

Andy’s session, titled “Understanding Smart Communication using BACnet”, will take place in the Controls & Networks Theatre at 15:15-16:00 on Wednesday 18th October. The session will deliver an opportunity for both learning and a little networking. Attendees will benefit from a bitesize masterclass in the principles of smart communications using BACnet, covering the BACnet protocol and its advantages in building controls. Attendees will gain a good understanding of what BACnet is, why you should choose BACnet and its network architecture as well as taking a deeper look at BACnet devices, objects and services.

Andy Camsell has been working in the building services industry since 1986. Initially training as an air conditioning engineer he continued to develop his skills in building services through hands-on installation, maintenance and commissioning culminating in a career in the emerging BEMS industry in the mid 1990s.

BCIA YEN Chair Greg Smith said: “We are delighted to be given this opportunity to deliver this talk at Smart Buildings Show. We hope you can join Andy for this CPD-accredited session, discussing a vital element of smart buildings that many of our young engineers will be involved in both now and in their future careers.”
