Expand your knowledge with the BCIA’s technical training courses

Featuring education and support from some of the building controls sector’s most experienced trainers, the Building Controls Industry Association’s (BCIA) 2025 training courses are not to be missed – so book your place today!

The seven courses, all provided either online or in-person for easy access, are aimed at either educating those outside the Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) sector or expanding the skill base and knowledge of those already involved in building controls.

No matter if attendees are designers, installation engineers, or managers, the courses are the industry standard for those in the BEMS industry.

With many BEMS engineers requiring an ECS Competency Card, or holding ones expiring soon, proving competence is essential. The BCIA’s seven training courses – with some being the only ones recognised as counting towards the ECS BEMS competency card scheme – will enable participants to show formal recognition of prior learning and experience before applying for their ECS BEMS Card.

Ranging from an Introduction to Building Controls and HVAC for individuals not currently working in the building controls sector through to the Fundamentals of HVAC and Building Technology, Hydraulics in Building Systems, and Control of Ventilation and Air Conditioning Plant, the BCIA training courses offer participants the chance to learn from some of the industry’s most experienced and knowledgeable trainers.

Our full list of training courses is as follows:

·        BCM00 – Introduction to Building Controls and HVAC

·        BCM01 – Fundamentals of HVAC and Building Technology

·        BCM02 – Measuring & Control Technology

·        BCM03 – Hydraulics in Building Systems

·        BCM04 – Control Function in Heating Plant
