Inspired Leaders Programme begins

The eagerly anticipated Inspired Leaders Programme was launched at the Victory Services Club on 15th February 2024. The first cohort of 14 delegates are embarking on a four-month leadership programme designed for the BEMS industry.

The programme is being led by Michael Holbrow, a professional coach, mentor and facilitator who has spent more than 30 years in the Building Controls industry.

The first event featured three inspirational speakers - Geraldine Butler-Wright of RorCas, Matthew Eastwood of CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) and Ruth Carter of CIBSE – who shared their leadership journey and things they’ve learned along the way.

During the development of the BCIA’s Corporate Plan, leadership and people development were identified as areas suffering from a training gap, with many companies struggling to recruit and without time to concentrate on people development due to the pace of the market. The programme references ‘leadership beyond boundaries’ by welcoming both direct people-managers and those that are currently leading challenging situations without line management responsibilities. The programme will comprise six modules in total and the remaining five will take place over the next 12-16 weeks.

BCIA President Graeme Rees said: “I am pleased to see this programme launched after much thought and planning. It will be exciting to see how our first BCIA delegates progress through the programme. I am confident Michael Holbrow and Inspired Leadership Solutions Ltd will help all in developing their careers in our terrific industry.”
