E.ON Controls Solutions makes BCIA charity donation as it passes 10,000km

As part of the BCIA’s five-million step challenge in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) charity, E.ON Control Solutions has donated £500 to the BCIA’s fundraising page after its staff passed their collective 10,000km target – and they’re still going!

Taking inspiration from the TCT’s 15,000 step challenge, the BCIA is urging its members to get involved with their own walking challenges and make a donation to in order to raise its target amount of £25,000 this winter. Fund raising is the main goal of course and creativity is welcomed, with the festive season offering plenty of other opportunities to raise money, such as raffles, fancy dress days and Christmas bake sales.

More than 30 of EON’s staff have been involved in the challenge, and to add some extra fun to the challenge they have marked their progress in distance on a world map. Places ‘visited’ so far include Innsbruck, Paris, Lyon and Bilbao, and they have almost ‘reached’ Porto.

Matt Brown, Managing Director & CFO at E.ON, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the BCIA’s chosen charity this year and our staff have really enjoyed taking up the challenge. We have set up a leader board to create some friendly competition and it has really helped to spur us on. Keep going, team!”

The Awards event in May formed the centre piece of the BCIA’s fundraising with a spectacular £5,602 raised on the evening, including £500 from the BCIA in lieu of development costs for its Market Information Service.
