Key dates, events and activities for Young Engineers Network

The next meeting of the Young Engineers Network will take place via Teams, on 9th February, 10.30am – 11.30am.

Please confirm your attendance by 5th February to receive the diary appointment, teams link and agenda.

‘Day in the Life’ videos

The BCIA has asked for contributions from YEN members to develop a short “Day in the Life” short video for social media. All that’s needed is for you to record short clips whilst going about your day-to-day work. The clips can be recorded on site, in the office or out with colleagues. They only need to be short but we do need them as soon as possible to help show the variety of roles/people and projects you all get to work on. The video is intended to inspire school leavers and those in further education to consider a career in the BEMS industry.

Please send your clips to Zoe Dickson via email at zoe.dickson2@sse.com and Kate O’Donnell at Kate.odonnell@eon-controls.com, by 2nd February.

National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week takes place from 5th – 11th February and we would like to invite five people to provide a short video (just to phone, nothing staged or curated) that tells potential apprentices about your journey. Ideally you will have been an apprentice or degree level apprentice, possibly in the world of BEMS or other aligned industries that led to the role you are in now. If you would like to take part please email your video to CatherineW@feta.co.uk by 30th January. If you would prefer not to record a video a short written testimonial can be submitted instead.

Event at Belimo UK

We will shortly be launching delegate places for the next YEN event, taking place at Belimo on 14th March. It’s a full-day experience followed by a networking social. Places will be limited and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis so be sure to book your place early if you would like to attend.
