Book your place at BCIA and Schneider Electric’s Young Engineers event today!

As part of the prestigious BCIA YEN 2024 events programme, Schneider Electric is hosting a captivating event at its Coventry-based Innovation Hub. Taking place on Thursday 20th June at 1pm, it will focus on smart building concept and future industry trends.

The hugely interactive gathering will explore the concept of a smart building, with participants working collaboratively through the different components of planning, design and delivery. Giving all attendees the opportunity to learn, develop team working and project-based skills and meet other like-minded young engineers. This afternoon event, followed by a relaxed social, is likely to be incredibly popular, so it’s important to book your place now before all places are gone!

What will the day involve?

Upon arrival, participants will be given a tour of the Schneider Electric Innovation Hub and Training Academy before introduction and discussion around smart building concept. Learning and education will be based around tasks to encourage collaboration and participation covering areas such as the impact a building can have on the environment, its occupants and nearby communities, design considerations and solutions and the integration of technology for occupant comfort and energy optimisation.

Later in the day, teams will present their solutions to others, creating further discussion and learning opportunities.

The final, informal part of the day will allow some well-earned social time over a relaxed meal and some drinks at a nearby pub.

The event is free to attend for YEN members in BCIA member companies. Non-member participants will be required to register their interest by submitting a waitlist ticket request. Places are limited and demand is expected to be high, so make sure you book your place today to avoid missing out!

The BCIA is also on the look out for more volunteers to help with the planning of a YEN Talks! series, so if you’re keen to take part, get in touch with the BCIA today.
