Play your part in highlighting the very best of the BEMS sector
The launch of the prestigious 2025 Building Controls Industry Awards is just a few weeks away and the BCIA is looking for two BEMS experts to join the judging panel for what is sure to be a rewarding but difficult task of choosing the deserving winners.
With incredible innovation on display all year round, talented industry professionals in a myriad of different fields, and organisations at the forefront of sustainability and energy efficiency, being on the judging panel is an ideal opportunity to shine a spotlight on the best the BEMS sector has to offer.
So, the BCIA is keen to hear from anyone with a depth of experience and knowledge in BEMS, no matter if the particular discipline is in technical, product or service development, training and skills, or project management.
The role will involve fairly and independently scoring and appraising nominations to develop a shortlist of candidates that represents the very best of the building automation sector. The time commitment is expected to be around two to three days between October 2024 and May 2025, as the awards ceremony will take place in May 2025.
The judging process is robust and transparent and the clear policy is outlined in the BCIA’s published Rules, Policies, and Procedures. Email catherinew@bcia.co.uk for a copy. Additionally, judges will be expected to comply with the T&C’s.
Jon Belfield, Managing Director at InTandem Systems Ltd, was on the judging panel last year and revealed what is involved. He said: “You get a timeframe with which to adjudicate and score those and it is a very clear criteria that you have to go through. But it is a professional duty and a privilege to be on the panel.”
The judges will be in place as the awards are launched, so the deadline for applications is Monday 30th September. Anyone looking to apply for one of the two spaces on the panel can click here.
